About Jaelyn

I am a 20 year old singer/songwriter based in Nova Scotia, Canada. Starting at the age of 8, I began training my voice in both pop and soul styles. Straight out of high school, I began attending NSCC for Music Arts.
Two years later, I am a full time music teacher locally, specializing in vocal practice, songwriting, and leading/conducting bands! I take great pride in my work, and music has always been the biggest part of my life. I strive to help others reach their highest potential, and continue as a confident and driven musician!

About the lesson

Within my lessons, I provide a structured approach to learning different vocal techniques and also love teaching performance/songwriting!
Here are some examples of what my lessons could include!

Voice/Technique:

- Warmups
- How to use our different registers (chest, mixed, head voice)
- How to do vocal runs/riffs
- How to sight read
- How to harmonize
- Etc.

Songwriting:

- Where to start + different writing methods
- How to write lyrics
- How to come up with a chord progression or structure
- Arranging your music
- Etc.

- How to have good stage presence while performing
- How to manage nerves and break out of mental blocks
- How to interact with other musicians on stage
- How to communicate with the audience while performing
