About Milly

[FULLY BOOKED TILL 1ST APRIL]

Hi! I’m Milly.
I’m a London-based, Singapore-born professional stage and screen actor who graduated from Royal Central and now sit on the audition panel (hello full circle) for the BA Acting Program.

Whether it’s Drama School Auditions, Actor Training or Career Coaching, I want you to walk away from sessions feeling confident with your choices, equipped with the tools to create work independently, and finding joy and fun in the process.

Have I used the Louvre robbery to teach acting technique? Yes. Yes I have.

Recent credits include a series regular on a TV series starring Simon Pegg, a BBC guest role alongside Timothy Spall, and a film with Gal Gadot. I’ve also performed at the National Theatre, “Henry V” at the Donmar starring Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), and “Orlando” on the West End with Emma Corrin (Nosferatu).

I aim to bring an energised and well-rounded approach to acting:
+ traditional world-class drama school training
+ ongoing industry experience
+ my own developing acting practice

All delivered straight to you in the comfort and privacy of your own space. On your own time. Wherever in the world you are.

When you step into a session with me, we are two actors working together to explore the craft, not a teacher and student, and definitely no exam vibes. I love coaching and I love watching my clients grow. I am here to facilitate a space for you to explore that potential for growth.

My Drama School Audition clients have gained recalls and places at Central, RADA, Guildhall, LAMDA, Juilliard, Mountview (amongst others), with some making the journey across oceans to land in the UK to pursue their dreams.

I buy them coffee when we finally meet in person because the culture shock (and the strength of the British pound) usually requires a chair and something hot.

Whatever stage you are at in your Acting journey, lets connect and see what we can do to make your goals a reality. Drop me a message. Say hello. Happy acting.

Milly x

- Agents: choosing and writing to them
- Any other personal questions unique to you

A Reminder: Being an Actor is a marathon, not a sprint. Everyone's journey is unique. It is never, ever too late to start. Starting IS the thing.

With love,
Milly x

Find out more about Milly

  • When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I was part of the Australian production of "Oliver!" the musical as a kid and learnt how to sing "Food Glorious Food" with a cockney accent before I even knew where or what the UK was.
I then became a child actor on TV in Singapore (where I'm from) and mainly loved it because of the free food.
It was only when I joined the drama club in school did I realise how magical it was to create plays with my friends and just how meaningful it could be to share stories that made people laugh and cry. That love has never left me.
  • Which artists or works affect you the most?

At the moment I REALLY admire Sandra Oh, Sophie Okonedo, Patsy Ferran, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Michaela Coel, Rebecca Frecknall and Greta Gerwig. Their work is so raw and powerful and
generous. They always push me to dig deeper with my work and to question why I want to share stories with everyone.
  • What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?

A passion for acting, an open heart, and the courage to step outside of your comfort zone where you feel safe to do so.
And of course a solid foundation in acting technique for that confidence boost and First Class Finesse ;)
  • What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

    Trust yourself.
Even when you feel like you're heading the wrong way or you're stuck in a rut, it's all a part of moving forwards. Progress can't just be measured by your successes; it's the stillness and the failures that will make you a stronger and more nuanced artist.
Do the scary thing. Sit with the feelings. Keep breathing. Because it's a sign that growth is on its way.
  • How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

Honestly? And this is where it gets sentimental:
It's like the moon breaking through the clouds on a dark night.
Like running so fast my lungs feel like they're on fire.
The smell of dad's freshly baked bread in the kitchen.
    A hug.
    Winning in monopoly.
It's Home and it's Adventure and it's Connection.
  • What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

Performing in a play called After Life at the National Theatre. I remember standing in the
middle of the Dorfman stage and thinking "what am I doing all the way over here in
LONDON, at the NATIONAL THEATRE?!?" For a kid who grew up in a tiny country almost halfway across the world, that was a real milestone moment.
  • Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

All the time! All of my clients bring a range of lived experiences and relationships with
acting to the table. They constantly challenge my process and motivate me to come up with more ways to help them reach their goals.
I am so grateful to all my current students for going on this journey with me and growing their
    craft alongside mine
  • Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

I believe that the most powerful thing we possess is our vast humanity for one another and - most importantly - for ourselves. I want you to discover your most authentic self in your craft. We are all storytellers who want to share a connection with one another and who fell in love with acting because it made us feel something that words cannot fully express. I want to help you bring those feelings, dreams and goals center stage in a way that honours how acting makes you feel. So let's start that journey today.
