About Lauren
Over the last 7 years, I have tutored ages fifteen and up in reading comprehension and English grammar. My collegiate studies have focused on the relationship between English and technology, linguistic anthropology, and the philosophy of rhetoric. In addition, I have written extensive works in both fiction and nonfiction, and have over 5 years of proofreading experience.

Writing a research paper can be intimidating. With a world of information at your fingertips to sift through, knowing where to look (or even what you're looking for) is half the battle. The other half mainly consists of organizing your information in a way that adheres to the conventions of old academia: things like formatting your citations correctly and generally "sounding smart" in order for your research to be taken seriously.
My goal is to take on the professor's role in research guidance for anyone who doesn't have access to one. I will help you craft your paper every step of the way by
— helping you craft a compelling thesis
— providing methods to look for credible academic sources WITHOUT access to university databases +/ paywalls
— offering grammatical and rhetorical suggestions
— ensuring that your paper follows the most up-to-date formatting guidelines (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.)
— suggesting academic journals to submit your paper to for publication
Contributing to academia shouldn't be reserved for those with PhDs. If you have an ambitious idea for a research project but feel like you don't have the budget to go to grad school, then my classes are for you!
