About Daniel
I was born in Korea, lived in Japan, and moved to here, United States 3 years ago. I studied English, Japanese, Korean, and even Chinese when I was in Japan. My proficiency in Korean and Japanese, added up with 3 years of Chinese education gave me a deeper understanding of the 3 East Asian languages, the Chinese characters that originate, the pronunciations, and even the uniqueness of each language.

I focus on helping students think in Korean rather than translate word-for-word. I serve as a bridge between textbook Korean and native, real-life Korean. I teach modern slang, online expressions (similar to “idk” or “wym”), and unspoken social rules that aren’t covered in formal courses. I also explain why certain expressions sound awkward to native speakers and adapt each lesson to the student’s personal goals in learning Korean. My lessons are ideal for students who: - Love K-dramas and Korean entertainment and want to understand them without subtitles - Plan to travel or live in Korea - Know grammar and vocabulary but struggle with speaking - Want to sound natural and confident in Korean My lessons may not be the best fit for students who approach Korean - purely academically, focusing only on memorization, vocabulary lists, or literary analysis.
