About Ashleigh
Hi! I’m Ashleigh, a Kenyan native and passionate storyteller who loves connecting with people from different cultures. Growing up in Kenya, Kiswahili has always been a natural part of my everyday life — from casual conversations with friends and family to navigating the vibrant culture and humour that make Kenya so unique. My goal is to make learning Kiswahili feel less like studying a textbook and more like having a real conversation with a Kenyan friend. Whether you’re planning a trip to East Africa, moving to Kenya, have Kenyan friends or family, or simply want to explore a beautiful new language, I’ll help you build the confidence to actually use Kiswahili in real-life situations. And if you want to take it a step further, I can even introduce you to Sheng, Kenya’s lively urban slang, so you can understand and appreciate the way people really speak in everyday Kenyan life!

If you’re interested in sounding more natural and understanding everyday conversations in Kenya, I’ll help you learn common Sheng words and expressions, when to use them, and what they really mean in context.
