About Konosuke
My name is Konosuke Oi. I'm from Yokohama, Japan. I grew up in Japan for 16 years and decided to study abroad for my high school education. I went to St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont for four years. Currently, I'm majoring in Business administration at American University in D.C. When I started learning English, I had no idea what people were discussing and struggled a lot. I finally realized that speaking is critical in the learning process, and now I can have conversations or discussions fluently in Japanese and English. I don't have a teaching certification; however, I taught Japanese to people interested in Japanese culture. One thing I love is to watch football, and that's my hobby.

My class will mainly focus on speaking. Everyone struggles when learning a new language, such as reading, listening, speaking, etc. The reason I want to teach based on conversation class is because I have experienced that I couldn't read or listen and had awful grammar when I started learning English as my second language. However, I felt comfortable and joy when talking with others, and I believe that's the same for other individuals. It's also the easiest way to see learning progress and realize how better you can be if you practice. I want people to feel joy and develop Japanese skills from the conversation. I will be able to give daily conversation samples, discussions, and more in my class.
