About Mira

Hello! こんにちは!My name is Mira(みら).

I was born and raised in Japan, and I’m half Japanese and half Indian. My father learned Japanese as his third language and speaks it fluently, and watching him communicate naturally in Japanese inspired my interest in language learning and Japanese education.

Although I grew up speaking only Japanese, I studied English myself, and currently learning Hindi as a third language. Because of this, I truly understand both the challenges and rewards of learning a new language. I always try to teach in a patient, supportive, and approachable way that helps students feel comfortable and motivated:)

I graduated with a degree in Japanese Language Studies, where I researched “Yasashii Nihongo” (Simplified Japanese) and presented my work at academic conferences.

I’ve also worked in international environments including hospitality, sales, performance, and language education, and I currently teach students from around the world online.

こんにちは!I’m Mira, a native Japanese tutor from Japan.

My lessons are friendly, practical, and tailored to your goals — whether you want to improve conversation skills, prepare for the JLPT, learn business Japanese, or simply feel more confident speaking naturally.

I focus on:
・Natural daily conversation
・Clear grammar explanations
・Pronunciation & accent coaching
・Speaking fluency and confidence
・Real-life Japanese expressions

Because of my background in musical theatre and performance, I especially enjoy helping students improve pronunciation, rhythm, and natural speaking flow.

Lessons are available for all levels, from complete beginner to advanced, and can be taught in English or Japanese depending on your level:)

  • 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak Japanese fluently because I was born and raised in Kobe, Japan.
  • 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

A samurai, such as a character modeled after Miyamoto Musashi, representing the spirit of Bushido and Japanese values.
  • 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

「月がきれいですね」 ("The moon is beautiful, isn't it?") – a subtle and elegant expression unique to Japanese.
  • 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Japanese is my mother tongue, and I strive to speak it correctly and beautifully through systematic learning.
  • 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

Japanese has no closely related languages, which makes it challenging. Motivation and genuine interest in Japan are essential for learning.
  • 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

My father, from India, has lived in Japan for over 40 years. He speaks Japanese perfectly but struggles with reading and writing, which showed me firsthand how difficult Japanese can be.
  • 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

Learning Italian as a third language, I visited Italy, which deepened my interest in the country, culture, and language, and increased my motivation to learn.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in language?

I teach not only Japanese but also the essence of "Japaneseness," carefully explaining subtle nuances and pronunciation so students can fully understand and feel confident using the language.
