About Beth

Hi, I'm Beth! I'm a native English speaker from Ireland and a TEFL-certified teacher. Being Irish, I like to think I have the gift of the gab and love a good chat. Although I've lived abroad for several years now, don't worry, my accent is neutral and easy to understand!

I love creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where conversations flow naturally and you almost forget you're learning. Having taught English in three different countries, I've met students from all walks of life, and getting to know them and learning about different cultures is one of my favorite parts of the job. After all, I believe I can learn just as much from my students as they can from me.

I'm also passionate about learning languages myself, having studied Spanish and German at university. Because of this, I know exactly what it's like to be the student. I understand that frustrating feeling of knowing exactly what you want to say but not quite having the words to express it yet.

As your tutor, I'll help you find those words and, most importantly, the confidence to use them!

My approach to teaching English is all about making learning fun, practical and relevant to you! I tailor lessons around your interests, goals and real-life situations, focusing on language you'll actually use in your day-to-day life.

Lessons are typically one hour long, combining conversation, grammar, vocabulary and interactive activities to help build your skills and confidence. I also offer optional homework to keep you practising between lessons.

I have a degree in Modern Languages, a 120-hour TEFL certificate and over two years of teaching experience in Ireland, Germany, the UAE and online. I've taught students of all ages and levels, and aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace!
