About Eto
I am a native French speaker, born and raised in Perpignan, in the south of France. I speak fluent English and Dutch, along with intermediate Spanish.
After obtaining my Baccalauréat (French High School Diploma) with Highest Honours (A+), I passed the competitive entrance examination for the French Institutes of Political Studies (Sciences Po), and moved to Strasbourg. I am currently reading for an MSc in Public Administration at Sciences Po Strasbourg and an LL.M. in Public Law at the University of Strasbourg. I will spend the 2026-2027 academic year at Newcastle University on academic exchange.

Before we start, I ask what you want French for, and I build the course around that goal.
Each lesson usually follows the same shape: a short warm-up conversation in French, a focused point of grammar or vocabulary, a practical exercise, and a few minutes at the end to review and set homework (optional, but recommanded). Those exercises are adapted depending on what you are looking for. I correct mistakes as we go for accuracy work, and let you speak freely without interruption during fluency work.
I also bring in authentic material: press articles, podcasts, songs and short videos, chosen to match your level and interests. As a law student, I'm confortable with formal and academic French, so I can also help with essay writing, argumentation and specialised vocabulary. For exam candidates (GCSE, A-Level, DELF/DALF), I work directly on past papers and the marking criteria, so you know precisely what examiners reward.
Lessons usually last 60 minutes, which suits most learners. I also offer 120-minute sessions for exam preparation or intensive work. I teach online and face-to-face in the Newcastle area.
I hold the Certificat Voltaire, the French national certification in spelling and grammar.
My lessons are for all levels and all ages. I am equally comfortable rebuilding the basics and pusing an advanced learner towards fluency.
