About Clarisse
Native speaker, I currently work as a French language assistant in a Secondary School in Dublin so I know of school work and programs and Junior Cert and Leaving Cert preparations so I am very patient, supportive, and helpful with my students. I graduated with a French bac with highest honors and have a French bachelor’s degree in French literature and language.
During my college years, I worked both as a private tutor for French students in secondary school and as a visitor experience and service assistant in a sculpture museum in Paris. I am hard-working and in both professional experiences, I was motivated by passing knowledge on linguistic or cultural and artistic knowledge to people who didn’t know it or who struggled to understand it. It is in this same approach that I want to work with my future students.

My lessons are for all levels and can be beginner-friendly. As I am working part-time in a secondary school, I am well aware of school programs and expectations at all levels. I am also open to adult students who want to gain confidence in their French language skills!
My teaching method is focused on what my students need. Simple conversations or preparation for the Leaving Cert oral exam can be an opportunity to talk with a native speaker to become as fluent as possible. I can also guide and help my students with French vocab, grammar (which I know can be hard), and verb tenses.
I use multiple resources (videos, films, songs, games, books, podcasts…) and can provide worksheets if needed.
As a French native who is living her dream and has moved to Ireland for a year, I do appreciate intercultural exchange. I am really willing to share French culture and language to make my students more confident about their skills in French knowledge. It will also give life to their learning by showing them real situations in which they could use what they are learning. Finally, it helps to create a playful and efficient way to learn a language for those who may not love French as much as I do and who have a necessity for learning it for the Junior Cert, the Leaving Cert, or a professional opportunity.
If convenient, lessons will take place online or face-to-face in Dublin or in its area for 30 min, 1h, 1h30, or 2h.
