About Sophie
A "Baroudeuse" Educator: From the French Alps to the Himalayas
I am a certified French as a Foreign Language (FLE) teacher with a passion for human connection. Originally from France, I have called India my home for 22 years. This dual identity allows me to offer a teaching experience that is culturally grounded and linguistically authentic.
Why choose me as your coach?
Expert Credentials: I am a certified Special Educator with a degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology. I don’t just teach French; I understand the science of how you—or your child—learns.
A Life of Purpose: Beyond the screen, I am the founder of a Neighborhood House in Ladakh. My life is dedicated to community building and youth empowerment, bringing a wealth of real-world wisdom to our lessons.
The bilingual Edge: Being fluent in French and English, I have personally mastered the art of language acquisition in multicultural settings. I know the shortcuts and the pitfalls.
The "Funny but Serious" Vibe: I bring high energy and humor to every session, but I never compromise on the academic rigor required for DELF, TCF, or IB/IGCSE success.
Whether you are a child speaking your first French words or an adult preparing for a life-changing exam for Canada or France, I am here to guide you with patience, expertise, and a touch of Himalayan spirit.

1. About the Lesson (Methodology)
Empowering your French journey with a Native perspective and Indian heart.
My teaching philosophy is simple: Language is a bridge, not a barrier. Having lived in Leh, Ladakh, for over two decades, I understand the specific challenges Indian learners face—from pronunciation nuances to grammatical shifts between Hindi/English and French.
My Techniques:
Active Pedagogy: No boring lectures. We use interactive tools, real-life scenarios, and "Active Recall" to ensure you remember what you learn.
Psychology-Based Approach: Using my certification in Child & Adolescent Psychology ANU university, I build a safe space where making mistakes is encouraged as a vital part of learning.
Cultural Bridging: I explain French concepts using local references that make sense to you, making the learning process 2x faster.
Typical Class Flow:
The "Check-in": A 5-minute oral warm-up to switch your brain into "French mode."
Concept Deep-Dive: Breaking down a complex rule or vocabulary theme using visual aids or stories.
Active Practice: Role-play, debating, or interactive quizzes to apply the lesson immediately.
Action Plan: A summary of the session and clear goals for your self-practice.
Who is this for?
School Students (IB / IGCSE / CBSE): Score higher with personalized support.
Canada Immigration (TEF/TCF): Targeted training to get your extra points for PR.
Young Learners: A fun, game-based introduction to French (certified in youth animation).
Corporate Professionals: Master "Business French" for your career growth.
