About Félix
I am a graduate student at Cambridge University, studying Latin and Greek (Classics). Before coming to Cambridge, I studied 3 years in "classe préparatoire littéraire" in Paris (Lycée Louis-le-Grand). I have been tutoring in French, Latin and Ancient Greek for years now (since 2011), mainly to teenagers and adults. I also taught Latin to children in a primary school with the Minimus textbook! It was a really fun experience.
Since the pandemic started, I moved all my lessons online, and it's been going great. I have been tutoring French GCSE and A Level, Ancient Greek and Latin GCSE, as well as Japanese GCSE.
From September 2020, I will be starting my PGCSE to become a professional teacher in London.

My teaching method depends not only on the subject I am teaching but also on the students themselves and on the students' goals.
I like to see the students' progress, so I usually do a recap of what we learned last time (through an exercise or a quick test). In each lesson, I try to focus on the 4 essential parts of learning a language: 1) speaking, 2) reading, 3) writing, 4) listening.
For Latin and Greek, I believe what's essential is to read as much as possible in the original language, especially at the beginning. That's why I use textbook materials so that the student can get used to reading in Latin or Greek. I don't focus too much on grammar, unless it is needed for exams for instance - because that's not how you learn a language (hence the difference between decoding a language and understanding or reading it!). But I personally love grammar, so if you want grammar-focussed classes, I can help you.
I like to give homework between the classes or vocab/grammar to revise.
