About Payton
As a university student studying Second Language Acquisition, TESOL Education, Journalism and Italian, my experience in school has taught me a range of unique learning strategies, how to create effective lesson plans, and overall create results with my learners.
This past year I worked with the Università degli Studi di Parma and tutored an Italian student with their English comprehension through a variety of mediums: From formal teaching by means of tests and worksheets, to more hands-on strategies like group cooking exercises over Zoom calls and Book-Club discussions.
I have lived in the United States for 21 years and am a native English speaker. I know both academic forms of English as well as casual conversation, and can help learners go beyond their textbooks.

My teaching methodology centers around personalized education. Your needs are individual to you, including strengths and weaknesses, and we will work together to reflect that!
For younger learners I like to use project-based learning strategies that start with the interests of the child.
As for older learners, pragmatic speaking is the next step in fluency, as well as the reading of great English literature, presentations, and a stress of casual conversation in English. I aim to make speaking a comfortable, exercisable skill.
Homework help is always available and need-based learning will be in place: If there are specific needs of the learner, those will be addressed first!
