About Jamie
I’m a native Mandarin speaker who's been teaching Mandarin for 8 years with training in teaching Chinese as a second language. With experience of giving lessons to teenagers and adults in groups and individually, face-to-face and online. I teach pinyin as well as Zhuyin (phonetic transliteration used in Taiwan), both traditional and simplified characters. My students are from various professions: diplomat, skilled worker, professor, teacher, tour guide, office worker, student, house wife…
I'm a passionate, creative and flexible teacher. During the lesson we don't just learn the language, but also to have some culture exchange and practical daily conversation. I've studied in the USA and now based in the UK, as a language learner myself, I totally understand the challenge of it. Therefore, I am positive that it would be a great choice for you to learn Mandarin with me.
