About Somia
I grew up in Paarl where Afrikaans is Groot! This town is the cradle of this language which is officially only about 100 years old. I believe sharing the gift of Afrikaans is important not only in preservation of history, but in ensuring the continual development of a language which is still so new.

I teach afrikaans beyond just "stompie" (iykyk;) and will ensure you gain language skills, enjoyment and even appreciation for the opportunity to gain more insight into another aspect of South African heritage. It may be a requirement for a second language in many schools, but I am here to share cultural appreciation of my own heritage in a way that also meets your academic requirements.
