I am a seasoned boxing coach, with 23 years of experience in both the amateur and professional ranks. I hold a 3 star AIBA coaching licence and a professional boxing licence.
I currently coach 4 professional boxers, 1 European Champion, 2 undefeated.
I was the technical director of the Irish Women’s Boxing Team for 10 years, during this period I coached my daughter Katie Taylor to win 17 major championships.
I have travelled the world to educate myself in boxing, my skills are include technical & tactical programming, periodisation planning along with strength & conditioning. My method of training is based on the Russian style of training,having been to numerous training camps in the eastern block. My focus will be on technical boxing.
I founded Bray Boxing Club in 1995, which became Ireland's most successful amateur boxing club.
I have also developed my own coaching course which I run for boxing coaches. I relish any challenge when it comes to boxing.
Prior to becoming a coach, I boxed for 10 years & won the Irish light heavy weight title in 1987.
