About Thomas
I am a documentary maker with many years of work experience in the Dutch and British industry. I have developed documentary programs for broadcasters such as the BBC, Channel 4, Viceland, Discovery Channel and Disney +. I also completed a 'Directing Documentary' course at the National Film & Television School, and my graduation film 'The Daydreamers' was nominated for a Grierson Award, selected for film festivals worldwide, and broadcast on NPO2.

In my lessons I discuss how you can best work to realize the idea you have for a documentary. I'll discuss how best to do research, what to look for when casting characters, and how to write a strong proposal, and shoot and edit a taster tape.

Ik heb contact met Thomas opgenomen nadat ik de trailer voor zijn film 'The Daydreamers' had gezien. Ik zag dat hij naar de National Film & Television School was geweest, en wilde heel graag weten hoe hij daar aangenomen was, omdat ik ook van plan was zelf aanmelding te doen. In twee uitgebreide sessies legde Thomas mij uit wat de school van je verwacht, hoe je het beste de motivatiebrief kan schrijven, en hoe je je kan voorbereiden op de aanmeldingsworkshop. Ik geloof dat het zijn vruchten afgeworpen heeft, want ik ben aangenomen om zelf volgend jaar met de Directing Documentary opleiding te beginnen!
