About Amélie
I’m a professional flautist and music tutor with a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Music, LRSM with Distinction, and an LRAM teaching qualification with Distinction. I also have training and experience in inclusive practice, and I’m passionate about making music education welcoming and accessible to different learners.
My musical experience spans orchestral and chamber performance, folk, jazz, contemporary and experimental music, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I have had the opportunity to perform, teach and collaborate in a variety of musical settings and with people from diverse backgrounds.

My lessons are friendly, supportive and personalised, whether you are preparing for a music theory exam, strengthening your existing knowledge, or simply wanting to feel more confident reading and understanding music. All ages welcome! I have a recent Enhanced DBS.
Lessons can follow a recognised syllabus, such as ABRSM or Trinity, or be tailored more freely around the areas you would like to develop. I’ll adapt the pace and approach to suit how you learn best, with clear explanations and practical examples to help make new concepts easier to understand and remember.
My aim is to help you understand how music works and develop the confidence to apply that knowledge independently. Most importantly, I want lessons to be enjoyable and encouraging.
