About Jose
My name is Jose Peñarroja Pérez, I am a teacher and interpreter of classical and modern contrabass. I also teach improvisation classes, chamber music and orchestra. I have worked in professional and semi-professional orchestras, as well as in chamber music groups, various jazz quartets and Rhythm and Blues and Rock and Roll groups. I have also performed soloist concerts with symphonic orchestra, band and duo with piano accompaniment.

I am an active creator of pedagogical and musical content (three published works), and I usually base my teaching on creating the bases for musical expression. I like the idea of connecting the different musical styles, whether it's a sixteenth-century reed, a romantic sonata, a beautiful song by David Bowie or a Blues by J. Coltrane. After all, everything is good music.
