About Annie
I have been teaching flute and recorder for almost 6 years and have had many pupils take grades (ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall) with me, achieving merit and distinction grades. I have also been teaching music theory for the same duration, and have also given tutoring on GCSE music and below. I have recently achieved a high 2:1 from the University of Birmingham with a first in performance and also a first in education. In September I will be completing a Primary PCGE, to further my teaching qualifications.

My teaching is very much based on what the student wants!
Subjects I tutor:
Instrumental (flute, recorder and trumpet)
Music Theory
English (up to GCSE)
Primary maths and science
My lessons are first and foremost fun! If it starts not being enjoyable, I change my approach, and I always listen to my students. My instrumental lessons usually begin with a warm up (which is linked to the main lesson), followed by the main lesson (anything from a specific piece, to scales, technique etc), and then finishing with a duet or a fun game or activity!
My theory, english and maths lessons are more interactive, and usually I will show you the method and then give you questions to complete. These can be done independently, or together, depending on the level of the student! But I will always explain anything as many times as it is needed, and again, will base my lessons on what each individual student wants.
