About Seth
With a foundation built in early childhood, my expertise spans the entire rhythm section.
While I am a guitarist at heart, my professional proficiency extends to bass, drums, and comprehensive music theory. This "bird’s-eye view" of the ensemble allows me to teach you not just how to play your part, but how your instrument breathes and interacts with a full band.
Whether we are deconstructing a complex drum fill or mapping out the harmonic structures of a song, you are learning from a tutor who understands the mechanics of music from every angle of the stage.
My relationship with music goes far beyond the fretboard; it has been the primary lens through which I understand the world.
By leveraging the logic of music theory, I developed the analytical tools necessary to master complex concepts in math and science throughout my professional career.
This unique perspective allows me to offer more than just "finger placement"... I provide a cognitive framework for problem-solving.
When you study with me, you aren't just learning an art form; you are developing the mental discipline and spatial reasoning skills that translate directly into academic and professional success.
The most vital credential I bring to our lessons is a lifetime of proven results within the musical community.
Music has been the catalyst for the majority of my lifelong friendships and professional networks, proving its power as a tool for social connection and collaboration.
I don’t just teach you to play in a room by yourself; I prepare you to join the broader conversation of musicians.
By choosing me as your tutor, you are gaining a mentor who understands the social "soul" of the instrument and is dedicated to helping you build the confidence to share your gift with others.

I use a psychology-driven, multi-sensory approach designed to bypass performance anxiety. By leveraging "fast wins," I establish a mental baseline so you always feel capable, even when challenged.
Cognitive Hacks: Using "scratch-and-sniff" stickers to anchor pitch to memory and "micro-learning" (playing 5 things twice) to boost elasticity.
The Reward Loop: I integrate your hobbies—like using video game loading screens as practice triggers—to create positive reinforcement.
Flipped Learning: I’ll intentionally make mistakes for you to correct, positioning you as the expert to solidify your understanding.
A Typical Lesson Plan
The Anxiety-Killer (5 Mins): High-success riffs to build immediate momentum.
Ear & Rhythm Mastery (15 Mins): Blind note-matching or finding syncopation in everyday objects to move away from "robotic" tab reading.
Active Application (15 Mins): Learning chords through geometric shapes and regional finger positions rather than just letter names.
The Independent Sprint (5 Mins): I step out of the room, leaving you to work through a final challenge alone to build self-reliance and "solo" confidence.
What Sets Me Apart
I don’t just teach music; I teach functional literacy. Music was my gateway to understanding math and science and building lifelong connections. I am a multi-instrumentalist (Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Theory) who focuses on partitioning attention. I’ll show you how to build callouses and fretboard familiarity "mindlessly" while watching TV, making the physical demands of the instrument second nature.
Who the Lessons Are For
Levels: Absolute beginners to intermediate players looking to break a plateau.
Disciplines: Guitar, Bass, Drums, or Music Theory.
The "Reluctant" Learner: Perfect for those who find traditional methods boring or intimidating.
Distracted before they start: Anyone looking to bridge the gap between their favorite media and the physical art of creation.
