• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  The subject that I teach is mainly biology and also includes the entire science textbook for school students. I started developing interest in this subject when I was in 8th grade and had participated in a science research project, it was like an exhibition in our school where all the students presented some cool stuff they invented or researched on everything related to science. That was the moment I realized that I have deep interest in this subject and decided to take up a career in the same field.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  Teaching was a part of my life since I was very young as I had seen my mom teach students. She was a tuition teacher and many students used to come at our place for the lessons. I remember taking tests of the students younger than me and helping my mom with the class notes and homework.

• How does your work help society?

  Teaching is my passion but it also takes a lot of hard work before we start the lesson with the student, so it is evident that we charge some tuition fees. However, I believe everyone has the right to take the classes, so, I always make sure that my tuition fees are not so high so that every student can afford joining my class.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My role models will always be my parents. I am fluent in my language because my dad made sure I learn well. And my mom who always encouraged me to learn more and more and gain knowledge about each and every subject.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I love dancing. I am a professional Bharatnatyam dancer. I also enjoy cooking and trying different dishes and hosting parties at my place.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One of my students I had is my best friend now. She was in her undergraduate first year, when she joined my class through Superprof and I was her mentor throughout her completion of the degree. She has also done her postgraduate now and is earning well in one of the major companies. She was my first student when I officially started taking tuitions and she was the one who motivated me to do more and grow more in this field. There were many such students who are still touch even after their course was completed, but she remains special.
