About Joel
I have a Bachelor's degree in French and German from Leeds University so I know how it feels to learn a new language! My experience learning new languages has inspired my teaching style to be empathetic and encouraging. If we are not making mistakes, then we are not trying hard enough!
I'm super friendly, love meeting new people and helping people improve their English.
Outside of English teaching I am also an actor. I graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2024 with a Master's in Acting. In 2025 and 2026 I performed in theatre shows all over Europe including the Italian tour of "1984" by George Orwell, and a European tour with the English Theatre Company.

Communication is key in my lessons! I believe that the best way to learn a new language is by using it as much as possible.
If there is a specific area of your English that you want to improve (e.g. Grammar points, business English or conversational English) I will tailor the lessons to what you need and you will be practising this style of English with a native speaker (Me!).
The lessons will contain a mixture of speaking, writing, reading and listening.
I am a CELTA qualified English teacher with 5 years' experience teaching all ages and levels (A1-C2). I offer lessons of 30 mins, 1 hour and 2 hours.
