About David
As a medical student with a degree in Human Biology, I will often find myself diving deep into different scientific topics for no reason other than my intense interest in them. When I set my mind to something, I will always accomplish it. I will have the same level of commitment to you and your needs as students.
At age 10, I decided I wanted to become a doctor and set my plan in motion. I began by volunteering in hospitals wherever I could by the time I was 14. As soon as I was able, I joined the medical field by getting my EMT license at 18, even missing some of my last days as a senior in high school to begin my training.
I am an avid learner and scholar, which was further cultivated in Michigan State University's Lyman Briggs residential program, a program that specifically accepts students interested in the natural and physical sciences. During my time there, I gained a level of knowledge in anatomy and biology that has helped me become an experienced scholar. This extensive knowledge, plus my personal difficulties with learning because of ADHD, allows me to explain the intricacies of biology and anatomy in a way that is easy to grasp for all students.
I also work hard for my communities. I helped found a club at Michigan State that tutors elementary, grade school, and high school students in after-school programs around the Lansing area of Michigan. Last year, I dedicated over 300 hours to these after-school programs as a tutor.
I never back down from a challenge, and I am very excited to share my love and passion for the sciences. I am hoping I can inspire some of that same passion as well through our interactions!

My method involves helping students create easy mnemonics and helpful memory strategies to remember the complex systems of the body and the cells. As a medical student and a graduate with a degree in Human Biology, I have a deeper understanding of biology and its subtopics than typical tutors. As someone who has struggled with learning disorders of my own, I have found, and am eager to share, ways to understand intricate biology content in a way that is easy to understand and remember for other students with similar issues, or just those who have a hard time with biology. My methods help students gain a deeper understanding of biology in a practical and comprehensive way.
My lesson plans are very flexible, as I understand the needs of each student are unique!
When exams or quizzes come around, we will discuss the test-taking strategies that I used to make it into medical school, and how you can apply the same ones to help you succeed and surpass your own performance expectations.
I am a very easy-going, understanding, and empathetic individual who is more than happy to spend extra time with every student on content that is difficult for them. No matter the level of biology you are interested in or struggling with, this is a team effort that we will embark on, and I am excited to teach others in subjects that I am deeply passionate about.
