About Antara
My name is Antara :). I am an international med student currently studying at the University of Edinburgh, originally from India. My love for biology and human anatomy, and an intense drive to help people encouraged me to pursue medicine. While it is a challenging course, I am enjoying it extremely and I would not change it for the world. I discovered my love for teaching when I undertook voluntary work in high school, and since then I have never passed up an opportunity to take on this role.

I take a very modifiable and free-form approach in teaching and try and adapt my style to fit each student. There are some common themes always: open and friendly communication and encouraging lots of questions! I try and make the content relevant and engaging so that it doesn't feel like a chore; learning should always feel constructive, not fatiguing. I offer up to 2-hour long sessions depending on the student's preference. I have over 100 hours of voluntary experience as a tutor and a counsellor; I used to work for the benefit of people living in deprived areas in India. It helped me cultivate a very patient and empathetic approach to teaching that puts the student's needs and experiences first. I offer lessons for students studying for Nat5s/Highers/Advanced Highers (S4, S5, S6).
