I know exactly how that feels because I had to fight for every point I earned. I ultimately achieved a 129 in CARS (95th percentile), but I didn't get there through natural intuition—I got there by deconstructing the AAMC’s logic until I found a repeatable system that worked every time.
My goal as your tutor is to take the "mystery" out of the reading. I provide a professional, structured, and highly supportive environment where we replace guessing with certainty. My Approach to MCAT CARS: Turning Subjectivity into Logic
My Teaching Methodology and Techniques I treat CARS not as a reading comprehension test, but as a logic puzzle. Many students fail because they try to "understand" the passage like a book; I teach you to "decode" it like a map. My methodology centers on Evidence-Based Elimination. We move away from "gut feelings" and toward identifying specific AAMC question patterns—such as "Faulty Analogies," "Extreme Language," and "Outside the Scope" traps. I focus heavily on Active Mapping, a technique that allows you to summarize a passage’s rhetorical structure in under 60 seconds, ensuring you never have to re-read paragraphs while the clock is ticking.
A Typical Lesson Plan Every 60-minute session is high-intensity and results-oriented:
Minutes 1–10: The Warm-Up. We review your recent "Missed Question Log" to identify if your errors are coming from comprehension, logic, or timing.
Minutes 10–35: Live Passage Deconstruction. We perform a "Think-Aloud" where I watch you navigate a fresh AAMC passage. I intervene the moment I see a "logic gap" or a timing stall.
Minutes 35–50: Targeted Drill. We focus on your weakest question type (e.g., "Strengthen/Weaken" or "Reasoning Beyond the Text") using a repeatable 3-step checklist.
Minutes 50–60: Strategic Pivot. We refine your "Timing Budget" for the week and set specific goals for your next full-length practice exam.
What Sets Me Apart I am not a "natural" high-scorer who walked into the testing center and found CARS easy. I earned my 129 (95th percentile) by deconstructing the exam’s predictable patterns after hitting my own plateaus. Because I had to build a system for myself, I can teach that system to you.
