About Sibella
Hi! I'm Sibella, a BSc Biodiversity & Ecology student at Stellenbosch University with a deep passion for science, nature and learning. I’ve always been fascinated by the world around me, from the smallest microorganisms to entire ecosystems, and that curiosity is what inspired me to pursue science at university.
Throughout school, I developed a strong academic foundation in Mathematics, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences, while also pursuing my interest in scientific research and biodiversity beyond the classroom. I’ve had the privilege of participating in science competitions and research-focused opportunities, including receiving recognition for my scientific work, and I recently represented South Africa at the London International Youth Science Forum.
But what I value most about my academic journey isn't simply achieving good marks — it's discovering how rewarding it is when something that once seemed impossible suddenly makes sense. I want to help students develop curiosity, confidence, problem-solving skills and genuine understanding — skills that stay with you long after the test is over.
As someone who genuinely loves science, I also want to share that enthusiasm with my students. Whether we're exploring the intricacies of biology, tackling a challenging problem or preparing for an exam, I want learning to feel interesting, achievable and rewarding.
Most importantly, I want my students to finish each lesson feeling a little more confident than when they started.
