About Mara
I’m a dedicated Math tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience and a Master’s in Mathematics (MMath). My passion extends beyond equations and problem-solving — I’m deeply fascinated by the history of mathematics and how human curiosity shaped it over centuries. I believe that understanding where mathematical ideas come from makes learning them more meaningful and enjoyable. In my lessons, I explore how ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Greeks, Indians, and Babylonians laid the foundations of modern mathematics. I enjoy sharing how famous theorems, such as Pythagoras’ or Euclid’s, were discovered and how they influenced later generations of thinkers. My students often find it exciting to connect what they study today with the discoveries of mathematicians who lived thousands of years ago. I use stories, timelines, and real-world parallels to make abstract concepts feel alive. We don’t just learn how formulas work — we uncover why they were created and what problems they were meant to solve. This approach helps students appreciate mathematics as a living, evolving language of logic and creativity.
