About Sarah
I’m Sarah, a medical student at the University of Manchester! I have loved seeing my students’ confidence flourish and amazing improvements be made over the last 4 years I’ve been tutoring. I always make sure to pay careful attention to each individual’s learning methods as what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another, hence why 1-1 tutoring can make a huge impact on your enjoyment and results in your subject.
Aside from academics I’m a keen runner, musician and love to travel. I even work with kids as a camp leader in Portugal every summer!

I teach maths to children aged 9 to 16 (KS2, KS3, GCSE Maths and GCSE Further Maths) and sciences to children aged 11 to 16 (KS3 science, GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry). I have experience teaching both online and in person. I offer 1-1 tutoring where every student gets undivided attention for 1-2 hours per week. I use a ‘learn, solve, adapt’ approach to build my students’ knowledge from foundation level, to answer basic exam questions, to finally stretch for those tricky application of knowledge top mark questions. I give all students short pieces of memorable feedback on sticky notes at the end of each lesson so that they can remember where they went wrong and come back stronger the following week. I also provide extra questions they can revise with between lessons.

Sarah tutored me for GCSE Further maths. She managed to get me from a D to a high B grade in just a few months. Her teaching was clear and she didn’t mind going over topics I didn’t understand multiple times. She had plenty of resources prepared in advance and was more than happy for me to message before a lesson if there was a specific topic I wanted help with.
Sarah provided maths tuition for my son during GCSE, and she was nothing short of fantastic. She really helped him develop the understanding of difficult concepts, and had a clear roadmap to ensure his improvement since he started out. Not only that, but achieving a grade 9 on results day really does speak for itself. I would highly recommend Sarah as a tutor to anyone!
