About John
I have a strong background in mathematics, statistics and data science, with experience helping students better understand challenging concepts in a clear and supportive way. I focus on creating a patient and encouraging learning environment while adapting lessons to each student’s needs and pace.
I can assist with a wide range of subjects within mathematics, programming and data analytics, including calculus, statistics, Python, R, SQL, Tableau, SAS and introductory data science concepts. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to build their confidence and problem-solving skills.

My teaching approach focuses on building understanding and confidence rather than memorization. I aim to break down difficult mathematical and statistical concepts into simpler steps that students can follow and apply independently. I understand that subjects such as calculus, statistics, Python and R can feel overwhelming, so I work patiently with students to identify gaps in understanding and strengthen core fundamentals.
A typical lesson usually begins with reviewing concepts or assignments the student is struggling with, followed by guided examples and practice questions. I also like to explain the practical applications behind concepts where possible, especially in statistics and data science, to help students understand not just how something works, but why it matters.
Lessons are available for high school and college students, including introductory and intermediate courses in mathematics, statistics, Python, R and data science.
