About Ishan
My passion for Mathematics stems from an early fascination with patterns, logical reasoning, and problem-solving. I pursued an M.Sc in Mathematical Sciences, gaining extensive knowledge of both theoretical and applied mathematics. Over 10 years of teaching, I have guided students from elementary school math learners to those preparing for SAT math and Calculus exams. My teaching emphasizes conceptual understanding, reasoning, and independence, helping learners achieve both confidence and academic success. I emphasize understanding each student’s learning style, tailoring instruction to meet their cognitive needs. Using step-by-step explanations, visualization techniques, and real-world examples, I make abstract topics like geometry, algebra, and Calculus accessible and engaging. I encourage active questioning, exploration, and learning through mistakes, fostering a supportive environment where learners feel confident and motivated. Outside teaching, I remain engaged with mathematics through problem-solving, research, and curriculum development. This allows me to integrate contemporary methods and real-world applications into lessons. Teaching Mathematics is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow from hesitation to mastery, developing critical thinking, resilience, and independent reasoning that extend beyond the classroom.

My lessons cover elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, SAT math, and Calculus, emphasizing structured problem-solving, analytical thinking, and conceptual understanding. I guide students to recognize patterns, apply reasoning, and tackle problems systematically, cultivating independence and confidence. Lessons combine step-by-step instruction, interactive practice, and reflective discussion to reinforce comprehension and skill-building.
Lesson content is adapted to the student’s level. Elementary learners focus on number sense, arithmetic, and basic problem-solving strategies. Middle-level learners develop algebraic reasoning, geometry visualization, and proportional thinking typical of middle school math. Advanced learners focus on algebra, SAT math preparation, and introductory Calculus, emphasizing analytical reasoning and accuracy. Guided exercises, practice problems, and personalized feedback support mastery and long-term understanding.
Mathematics lessons also foster patience, focus, and logical discipline. As students develop confidence, they gain transferable skills that enhance performance across subjects.
