About Alexis
My connection with mathematics developed through a deep appreciation for patterns, structure, and logical problem solving. This passion led me to earn a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I explored both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Over the past 10 years, I have helped students from various academic backgrounds overcome math anxiety and develop confidence through patient, structured guidance.
I believe successful math teaching depends on understanding how each student thinks. My approach focuses on adapting explanations, using visual models, and reinforcing learning through guided practice and repetition. I create a calm learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes without fear. This supportive atmosphere allows learners to grow steadily and confidently.
Outside teaching, I continue engaging with mathematics through problem-solving practice, educational research, and curriculum development. This ongoing learning helps me refine my methods and remain adaptable. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding because I see students transform frustration into clarity and self-belief. Helping learners discover their analytical strength and confidence is the most meaningful part of my work.

Mathematics becomes approachable when students understand the reasoning behind methods rather than relying on memorization. My lessons focus on developing conceptual clarity across arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and introductory calculus. I guide learners through step-by-step explanations, visual reasoning, and real-life applications that help them see mathematics as a connected and logical system.
Lesson structure is personalized to match each student’s level. Beginners focus on number sense, basic operations, and logical sequencing. Intermediate learners strengthen algebraic manipulation, word-problem interpretation, and multi-step reasoning. Advanced students work on proofs, exam strategies, accuracy improvement, and time management. Regular feedback and structured practice ensure steady progress and confidence.
Mathematics lessons also strengthen focus, discipline, and analytical thinking. As students gain clarity, they become calmer when facing complex problems and more resilient when mistakes occur.
