About Eric
I’m 39, and I’ve lived in metro Detroit my whole life, except for four and a half long years when I went to Saginaw Valley State University to earn my Bachelor of Arts, which I graduated from in December 2009.
I didn’t start teaching until later in life. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a teacher, but I changed my major away from education and had to go back after realizing I really wanted to work with students and not be stuck in a 9 to 5 job doing the same thing every day. I love my students and the diversity and knowledge they’ve shared with me about all sorts of people, and every day is a new adventure. I’ve never had a day that was the same as the day before.

I’ve been teaching math for the past 11 years, primarily teaching ninth-grade algebra one and eleventh-grade algebra two, with occasional instruction in twelfth-grade statistics. During this time, I’ve also had three years of experience teaching and learning disabilities as a special education math teacher, which has equipped me with a deep understanding of various learning styles and the ability to adapt my teaching methods to accommodate the unique needs of my students. I firmly believe that everyone can excel in math if they find a supportive and patient mentor who won’t give up on them. I personally never give up on my students. Additionally, I’m flexible and willing to offer virtual, hybrid, or in-person learning options, whichever best suits the student and their family. Furthermore, I encourage my students to embrace failure as a valuable learning experience. By acknowledging our mistakes, we can identify the root causes and develop effective strategies to rectify them, ultimately preventing future errors. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to discuss my services with you if you’re interested. My goal is to help your child discover the joy and excitement of math, transforming it from a daunting subject into an enjoyable and rewarding pursuit.

However, if you contact me, I will be more than happy to work out any financial arrangements that you may need as I care more about your child getting the help they need and money can be discussed and arrangements can be made so don’t think that you can’t get your kid help because it’s too expensive.
