About Callum
I am currently pursuing my Maths PhD, and an experienced tutor and teaching fellow. I teach foundation-level university classes of up to 100 students.
I have experience in teaching at all levels for children in both London and the USA. In London I have prepared students for the 11+ and 13+ common entrance exams.
In London, I have students that have successfully been placed in leading schools:

Highgate
During my time in the USA, I also taught students who were struggling to keep their grades up and were on the brink of failing and being held back a year. Under my guidance I made sure the students were able to pass their examinations to continue their education.
I went to university in America on a football scholarship and received a BSc in Mathematics, and a minor in Computer Science with straight A's.
I volunteered at the prestigious London school UCS while on my gap year, and upon completion of my degree I returned and teach there frequently.
As an athlete, I found I have a deeper connection with students with passions for sport or other extra curricular activities. For the student, being able to relate to the teacher is vital, it helps build a student-teacher relationship which makes the lesson more enjoyable.

My expertise in identifying a student's weakness and tackling the root of the subject led me to helping the student achieve what they believed was impossible. It takes a combination of perseverance and trusting the process, building confidence is key to obtaining the satisfaction of completing a seemingly impossible task.
As a tutor, I unlock the student's potential by guiding them towards the answer with leading questions, and teaching them a method that suits their style. Building confidence to show they can do it on their own is key to success.
I believe mastering and solving problem provides a unique satisfaction, I want to pass that feeling of achievement on to the student.
