About Me
Hello, my name is Tartisio Njoki Filder, an experienced educator, statistician, and researcher with a strong passion for helping students achieve academic excellence. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Moi University and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Chuka University, Kenya.
Over the years, I have taught Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, and Computer Studies at the secondary school level, as well as served as a Part-Time Lecturer at Mount Kenya University in the Department of Applied and Pure Sciences. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to teach learners of different abilities and academic levels effectively.
My teaching philosophy is based on clarity, patience, and student engagement. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ideas, and developing confidence in their abilities. I break down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps and provide practical examples that make learning enjoyable and meaningful.
Beyond teaching, I have more than five years of experience in research, data analysis, report writing, and academic consulting. This broad academic and professional background enables me to guide students not only in mastering subject content but also in developing critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Teaching Methodology and Approach
My teaching approach is student-centered, interactive, and results-oriented. I believe that every learner has unique strengths and learning needs, so I tailor my lessons to suit each student's pace and level of understanding. I focus on building a strong foundation of concepts before progressing to more advanced topics.
In Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics, and related subjects, I use practical examples, problem-solving techniques, and real-life applications to help students understand complex concepts easily. I encourage active participation, critical thinking, and regular practice through exercises, assignments, and assessments. I also integrate technology and digital resources where appropriate to enhance learning.
Typical Length of a Lesson
My lessons last between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the student's level, learning objectives, and subject requirements. For examination preparation or advanced topics, longer sessions can be arranged.
Qualifications and Teaching Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Moi University and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Chuka University, Kenya. I also possess computer skills training and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
I have experience as a part-time lecturer at Mount Kenya University in the Department of Applied and Pure Sciences. In addition, I have worked as a high school teacher teaching Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, and Computer Studies. My professional experience also includes research, data analysis, report writing, proposal writing, and academic writing, with over five years of experience in these areas.
