About Maria
Hello! My name is Maria, and I am a Math and Chemistry tutor for Grades 6–12 with an HBA and MA and over 6 years of tutoring experience, supporting students in both online and in-person settings.
I help students build a strong understanding of concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and boost their academic performance through clear, structured, and personalized lessons.
My focus is on making learning simple and easy to understand while encouraging critical thinking and consistent progress. I work closely with students to identify gaps in understanding and help them build the skills needed for long-term academic success.

I tutor middle school and high school students in Math and Chemistry (Grades 6–12), focusing on building strong conceptual understanding, confidence, and consistent grade improvement.
My approach is structured, personalized, and results-oriented. I begin by identifying gaps in understanding, then clearly explain or review key concepts before moving into guided, progressively challenging practice. Each session includes focused problem-solving, homework support, and targeted questions designed to strengthen weak areas and improve performance on assessments.
I place strong emphasis on critical thinking and independent problem-solving, helping students understand not just what to do, but why certain methods work. This develops long-term learning skills rather than short-term memorization. Additional practice is provided when needed to reinforce learning between sessions.
My goal is to help students improve their understanding and grades while building the skills and confidence to succeed independently.
