About Sarah
Hi, I'm Sarah! I graduated from George Fox University in 2015 with a degree in Biology. I taught middle and high school math and science in Newberg, OR for two years and have been tutoring students ages 8-18 for the past 8 years in math and science.

I understand that every student learns differently and using just one learning technique will not work for everyone. My first approach as a tutor is to determine the way that your student learns and retains information best. For some students it is seeing the problem laid out visually, for others it is being given the opportunity to practice solving that type of problem using different methods, for others it is "teaching" or explaining to someone else how they would go about solving that problem. Often, the reason a student may need to be tutored is simply because their teacher does not have the time or resources to spend teaching different methods of learning to the entire class and the student simply needs someone to sit down with them and go over the material in the way that they learn best. It is my goal to not only help your student catch up to the pace of the class and raise their grade but also realize what method they learn best through so they can help themselves understand any new information they learn in class by utilizing that method.
