About Sophie
I am an artist, writer and facilitator based in Cornwall, UK. In my free time, I can most often be found reading on my sofa with my two cats, Mole & Nelly, swimming and walking on the beaches next to my house, or making dinner with friends.
I have acted as an unofficial tutor for fellow students during all of my schooling and my degrees. I also teach English as a volunteer, and have tutored on GCSE English Lit & Lang in London and the Middle East.

I take the time to get to know you and like to create a tailored approach for each student. I will work with you to understand your individual needs in order to create a programme suited to you.
I love to develop fun, engaging sessions. It is very important to me that you become excited by the material and find your own entryway into the work, as I believe that is what will help you to go far. I am particularly keen to level the playing field and break apart the myth that English Classics can only be analysed by academics and scholars. I help you to find interesting routes into the material and help you love the texts just as much as I do.
In terms of essay writing for GSCE, A-Level and University level - well, I have never achieved less than an A! I have worked with multiple people on developing their essay technique using a simple but highly successful method suited for each level. With me, essay writing becomes less stressful and much more about finding a way to express yourself fully and effectively.
