Meet Ms. Ivonne: Multidisciplinary Artist, Designer, and Educator
Ms. Ivonne, is a distinguished figure in the realms of art, design, and education. Her journey began with an AAS in Communication Design from Altos de Chavon School of Design in 2010, followed by a BFA in Product Design from Parsons The New School in 2013. Furthering her academic pursuits, she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from The School of Visual Arts (SVA) in 2019.
Before embarking on her teaching career, Ms. Ivonne honed her skills in the production design industry of NYC, accumulating a wealth of experiences in designing and project management for national and international projects. Her transition to education seamlessly integrated her practical expertise with her passion for nurturing young minds. With a holistic approach, she imparts invaluable skills and fosters problem-solving abilities in students 9 to 12th grade, drawing inspiration from everyday experiences.
Not only is Ms. Ivonne a seasoned educator, but she also champions environmental and mental health causes within the school community and through her artistic endeavors. Her fluency in multiple languages—Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Norwegian—further enriches her ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
