About Ashley
Teaching piano for 8 years and instructing over 150 students has given me a profound appreciation for the individual journeys each learner undertakes. Students come to me with diverse aspirations—some seek a fun introduction to piano, others aim for professional-level competence. My teaching is rooted in cultivating a warm, supportive environment where students feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and progress at their own pace. Technique is a key focus, including hand positioning, finger agility, and rhythm accuracy, but equally important is fostering musicality and personal expression. I work hard to align lessons with each student’s musical preferences, whether that’s classical masterpieces, jazz standards, or modern pop tunes, to keep practice motivating and meaningful. One of my proudest accomplishments was helping a student overcome their fear of public performance and confidently deliver a solo recital, marking a turning point in their musical confidence. For me, piano teaching is about more than just playing notes—it’s about helping students discover a lifelong passion and the emotional power of music. I am dedicated to guiding every student toward realizing their unique potential on the piano.

I teach piano with a student-centered mindset, combining Compassion, Integrity, and Adaptability to help students learn in a way that works best for them. My lessons are interactive, encouraging, and always personalized.
I use compassion to make sure students feel safe, relaxed, and supported. Whether a student is shy, unsure of their ability, or struggling with a new concept, I provide the encouragement and patience they need to keep going. I believe kindness builds confidence.
Integrity means I give honest feedback and provide lessons that have a clear purpose. I don’t overload students with theory they don’t need—but I also don’t cut corners. Every exercise or piece we play is carefully chosen to help students grow at their own pace.
Adaptability is at the heart of how I teach. I often ask students what they want to play or learn and build lessons around that. Some students prefer sheet music; others love improvising or playing by ear. I adapt based on interest, strengths, and even mood—making sure lessons stay fresh and engaging.
By combining solid technique with real-world musical examples, I help students see how piano fits into their lives and goals. Whether you’re learning your first song or preparing for a performance, I’ll guide you every step of the way with care and clarity.
