About Kay
I'm a friendly, patient and encouraging tutor with vast experience in teaching, writing and communications.
I have supported students from a wide range of educational, professional and cultural backgrounds. I understand that asking for help can sometimes feel intimidating, so I work to create a respectful environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I hold a master’s degree in writing and bring extensive experience in editing, research and professional communication. My goal is to help students feel more confident, capable and independent in their own work.

My lessons are practical, supportive and tailored to each student’s goals. As a government professional & former college instructor teaching English composition and technical writing, I helped students strengthen their ideas, organize clear arguments and communicate effectively for academic and professional audiences.
A typical lesson starts by identifying the student’s priorities, reviewing their current work and breaking larger assignments into manageable steps. I use examples, guided practice and constructive feedback, with an emphasis on revision rather than simply correcting mistakes while using a gentle student-led approach. Everyone learns differently!
I'm confident my professional experience in writing, editing and communications allows me to connect classroom skills with real-world expectations.
My lessons are well suited to high school, college and adult learners seeking support with essays, reports, grammar, editing, research, document organization or workplace writing.
