About Mara

My name is Mara, and I am a passionate language educator dedicated to making Romanian accessible, engaging, and enjoyable to learn.

Language learning is most effective when it feels natural rather than overwhelming. Having guided students of diverse ages and backgrounds, I focus on building real speaking confidence from day one. I specialize in breaking down tricky grammar patterns, verb forms, and pronunciation into simple, intuitive concepts.

Known for my warm, patient approach, I adapt every lesson to your personal goals—whether you are connecting with family, preparing for travel, or building fluency from scratch.

About the lesson

**What We Cover**

1. Natural Conversation & Pronunciation:Build fluency through practical dialogues, authentic phrasing, and accent reduction from day one.
2. Structured Grammar & Foundations: Clear, simplified explanations of Romanian noun cases, verb conjugations, and sentence structures without overwhelming rules.
3. Practical Vocabulary & Culture: Real-world expressions for travel, family connections, business, or everyday living in Romania.
4. Listening & Reading Comprehension: Engaging with real audio clips, texts, and multimedia to develop intuitive language retention.

**How Lessons Are Structured**

1. **Targeted Focus:** Each session opens with a specific communicative goal (e.g., ordering food, discussing past events, handling professional emails).
2. **Interactive Practice:** We speak Romanian as much as possible, applying new vocabulary and structures directly in context.
3. **Step-by-Step Guidance:** Corrections are provided constructively with real-time notes and phonetic breakdowns.
4. **Summary & Takeaways:** Every lesson ends with a key takeaway sheet and optional practice materials to keep your momentum between classes.

**Teaching Approach & Formats**

* **Patience & Encouragement:** A relaxed, supportive atmosphere where making mistakes is welcomed as a natural part of learning.
* **Multilingual Bridge:** Explanations can be provided seamlessly in **English** or **Spanish** to help you connect grammar concepts quickly.
* **Flexible Learning: Tailored for absolute beginners (A1) up to advanced conversationalists (C1), available 1-on-1

My computer skills classes with Mara are fantastic. She's a dynamic teacher, and in just a few weeks I feel much more confident. I didn't know anything before, and at my age, it's essential.
