About Leah
My teaching approach focuses on making piano learning fun, engaging, and rewarding for both kids and adults. I emphasise building strong technique while encouraging consistent practice habits. Lessons are designed to inspire a genuine love for playing, combining structure with creativity. To keep students motivated, I use music games, backing tracks, and a mix of classical and popular pieces. This variety ensures every lesson feels fresh and enjoyable. I adapt my approach to each student’s goals, whether they’re seeking relaxation, emotional expression, or exploring improvisation. For those who benefit from music as a form of therapy, I create a supportive, calming environment that nurtures focus and emotional connection. For students interested in jazz and creative expression, we explore rhythm, improvisation, and stylistic nuances to develop confidence and originality. I celebrate small achievements to build confidence step by step. Sight-reading, phrasing, and musicality are reinforced in playful and engaging ways. I encourage exploration, curiosity, and personal expression at every stage. My aim is for students to look forward to practising and feel inspired by their progress. Together, we make piano learning exciting, meaningful, and deeply rewarding.

I’m a passionate piano teacher with over 7 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Piano Performance. Music has always been my way of expressing emotions, and I love helping students feel the same connection. I believe that learning piano is not just about playing notes, but about understanding the story and emotion behind each piece. In my lessons, I focus on building strong foundations in both technique and music theory. A solid technical base allows students to play with confidence and freedom. I tailor my teaching to each student’s goals, learning style, and pace. Some days are about structured practice; other days, we explore creativity and expression. I incorporate a mix of classical works and contemporary pieces to keep lessons engaging. Sight-reading, rhythm, and musical phrasing are key elements we work on regularly. I encourage curiosity, experimentation, and improvisation to help students find their own musical voice. Patience and encouragement guide every step of the learning journey. Ultimately, my goal is to build both skill and a deep love for music. Watching a student connect emotionally to a piece is the most rewarding part of teaching. Together, we make music that resonates beyond the piano keys.
