About Firdaus
My Philosophy: Math as a Language of Logic
Mathematics is often taught as a daunting set of rules to be memorized. My approach is different. With a professional background in Computer Science and IT Systems, I treat math as a structured language. I don't just teach students how to find the answer; I teach them to understand the "architecture" of the problem. When a student understands the logic behind a formula, they no longer need to fear the exam—they have the tools to solve anything placed in front of them.
Professional Legitimacy & Experience
I bring a high level of discipline and technical expertise to my tutoring:
Academic Foundation: I hold a Diploma in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), where I mastered the core pillars of mathematics, including Calculus, Algebra, and Discrete Math.
Professional Expertise: As a Senior IT Executive, my daily work involves complex troubleshooting and algorithmic thinking. This professional experience allows me to provide students with real-world examples of how mathematics is applied in technology and engineering.
Proven Results: I have a consistent track record of simplifying complex technical concepts for others, helping students move from a state of confusion to one of confident mastery.
What to Expect in My Classes
I provide a structured, professional environment tailored to the student's pace:
Structured Methodology: Each 90 to 120-minute session begins with a review of fundamentals before progressing to advanced problem-solving using the "Scaffolding" technique.
Tailored for SPM & Beyond: While I specialize in preparing students for SPM Modern and Additional Mathematics, my lessons are also ideal for Diploma students or adult learners looking to strengthen their logical foundations.
Commitment to Progress: I am dedicated to my students' success. I offer clear feedback, actionable study plans, and a patient, professional demeanor that encourages questions and curiosity.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology
My methodology follows a "Concept-First, Practice-Second" framework:
The "Why" Before the "How": Before we solve an equation, I explain the logic behind it. If a student understands why a formula works, they won't need to memorize it—they can derive it.
Visual Problem Solving: For topics like geometry or calculus, I use visual diagrams and real-life analogies (like networking paths or coding logic) to illustrate how numbers move.
The Scaffolding Method: We start with simple problems to build confidence, gradually increasing the complexity as the student masters the core technique.
Active Feedback: I encourage students to "teach back" the solution to me. If you can explain it, you’ve mastered it.
Typical Length of a Lesson
Standard Session: 1.5 to 2 hours.
Structure: The first 15 minutes are spent reviewing previous homework and clarifying doubts. The middle hour is dedicated to new concepts and guided practice. The final 15–30 minutes are for independent problem-solving to ensure the student can work without assistance.
Qualifications and Experience
Technical Foundation: I hold a Diploma in Computer Science from UiTM, which provided me with a rigorous mathematical foundation in algebra, calculus, and discrete mathematics.
Professional Logic: My daily work as a Senior IT Executive involves complex troubleshooting and algorithmic thinking—skills that are essential for teaching students how to approach math problems systematically.
Academic History: I have a strong track record of assisting peers and juniors through technical subjects, translating complex documentation into easy-to-understand steps.
Target Audience (Level and Age)
My lessons are specifically designed for:
Secondary School Students: Particularly those preparing for SPM (Modern Math & Additional Math).
Diploma/Foundation Students: Those struggling with introductory Calculus or Discrete Mathematics.
Adult Learners: Individuals looking to improve their numerical literacy for professional certifications or career changes.
