About Matt
My approach to teaching guitar focuses on building strong foundations in technique, music theory, rhythm, and ear training while fostering creativity and expression. I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring their musical style. Each lesson is tailored to individual goals—whether it’s mastering chords, improving improvisation, or understanding composition. I emphasize clear communication, compassion, and accountability to help students stay on track and motivated. Using creative exercises, like learning songs and practicing beat-making, I ensure that lessons are engaging and practical. My goal is to inspire confidence and musical growth in every student.

My teaching philosophy centers on making each lesson practical and engaging, tailoring my approach to fit each student’s goals and style. I cover all essentials—from learning songs and improvisation to mastering theory, technique, and composition. My proudest achievements are watching students grow confident, perform with ease, and even compose their own music. I believe every student has unique potential, and I'm committed to helping them unlock it.
