About Peet
I am a creative professional with a deep-rooted passion for the Afrikaans language and its power to connect people. My journey is a unique blend of heritage and modern innovation; as the great-grandson of the renowned Afrikaans linguist and pioneer, DF Malherbe, I have always felt a personal responsibility to keep our language vibrant and accessible in the 21st century.
My professional background is diverse, spanning years in tech support and media production. This experience has equipped me with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to use creative, visual storytelling to make learning more engaging. Furthermore, my two years of experience teaching computer literacy at a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) shaped me into an incredibly patient and adaptable mentor. I understand that learning a new skill can be daunting, which is why I focus on creating a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere.
Outside of tutoring, I am a memoir writer and a creative soul who loves exploring the intersection of technology and tradition. I don’t just teach a language; I share a culture, a history, and a practical way to communicate with confidence.
