About Ava
I am Ava and I also studied French language and Francophone studies at Stanford University alongside my mathematics education! I have spent 9 years helping students develop practical French skills, from their first vocabulary words to advanced academic communication! My interest in French grew through university language study and cultural research, where I became fascinated by the differences between classroom French and the language people actually use in daily conversations! I have supported students with school French, independent language learning, oral presentations, reading assignments, and DELF preparation! I particularly enjoy working with students who understand written French but feel nervous when asked to speak! I use patient conversation practice to gradually remove that hesitation and help learners become comfortable making mistakes while improving naturally! I believe language learning should introduce students to another way of expressing ideas, understanding culture, and connecting with people!

I teach French to K-12 learners through practical communication, storytelling, pronunciation practice, and cultural discovery! My lessons are designed for beginners, school students, advanced learners, and students preparing for French examinations who want to become comfortable using the language instead of only memorizing vocabulary lists! I create an individualized plan covering speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence construction, and conversational confidence according to each student's level! Younger learners can develop French naturally through stories, pictures, songs, simple conversations, games, and everyday vocabulary related to school, family, food, hobbies, and travel! Middle and High School students receive structured support with classroom assignments, written compositions, reading comprehension, grammar exercises, presentations, and examination preparation! I also prepare students for DELF and DALF examinations by practicing realistic speaking prompts, listening activities, reading passages, written responses, and time-management techniques! My interactive lessons may include simulated café conversations, travel situations, role-playing activities, cultural comparisons, pronunciation challenges, and short spontaneous conversations! I carefully track recurring grammar and pronunciation mistakes so we can revisit them without making the student feel overwhelmed! My goal is to help every learner develop the confidence to construct their own French sentences and communicate naturally in situations that extend beyond a textbook!
