About Gabriel
Gabriel McPherson is a Seattle native who’s nearly three decades professional career in the performing arts runs the creative gamut. He holds a B.F.A. in Acting with additional disciplinary focus in music composition (’00) from The Theatre School, DePaul University, Chicago, IL. He is the proud member of no less than 7 professional unions: amongst them:Actors Equity Association, The American Federation of Musicians Local 47 - L.A., S.A.G.-A.F.T.R.A., The Writers Guild of America, The National Education Association.
As an Actor and musician, Gabriel has toured the country multiple times and played practically every major stage in the 48 contiguous states. He is a founding member, along with his brother and writing partner Luke McPherson, of the Seattle based rock band "Doxology," and has performed with such major music acts as The B-52's, Snoop Dog, 311, Garbage, Wycliffe Jean, and many others.
As a composer, Mr. McPherson has written and orchestrated original scores for Mary Zimmerman's Secret in the Wings, Naomi Ozeki’s Anon(ymous), Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men, Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses, Shakespeare’s The Tempest, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo & Juliet, and Much Ado About Nothing; as well as adapted scores for Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, The Sword in the Stone, and over twenty other original scores for theatrical productions and independent film.
He is twice the recipient of The Conservatory Commission for Youth Theatre from The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts, and with his brother Luke McPherson has written new musical adaptions of Dr. Doolittle and The Prince and the Pauper. He is also the recipient of the Cunningham Commission from Chicago Playworks - the countries largest educational children’s theaters, and is currently writing a new musical based on the final 2 books of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women trilogy.
A prolific stage and music director, Gabriel has helmed and/or conducted more than 60 major stage productions in the last 15 years. He served as The Director of Drama & Technical Theatre at Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma, WA, and most recently held the position of Director of Theatrical Arts at Tacoma School of the Arts. He is also a Master Teaching Artist for Tacoma Arts Live, and served for ten seasons as Resident Stage and Music Director for The Broadway Center Conservatory Training Program - the only Kennedy Center affiliated theatre education program in the Northwest.

4. Performance and Feedback: Students perform prepared pieces, receiving constructive feedback aimed at refining and elevating their performances.
5. Reflection and Goal Setting: A brief discussion on the day’s achievements and setting goals for the next session.
