About Li

I'm a native Mandarin speaker and a graduate student in Adolescent Education at Hunter College, CUNY. I have experience teaching Chinese to young children and also raised my own kids, so I'm patient, warm, and comfortable working with learners of all ages. I take teaching seriously and always prepare lessons that match each student's goals. Whether you want to improve your everyday conversation or build confidence speaking Mandarin, I'll help you progress step by step. My approach is friendly, reliable, and focused on real communication.

My lessons are relaxed, conversation-based, and tailored to you. Whether you want to practice everyday Mandarin, prepare for travel, or simply keep your speaking skills sharp, we'll focus on real-life topics that interest you – like food, culture, travel, or daily life. I don't use boring textbooks or drills. Instead, I create a comfortable space where you can speak freely, make mistakes, and build confidence. I gently correct pronunciation and word choice along the way. My lessons are ideal for adults who already have some foundation and want to improve fluency naturally. All levels are welcome, and every session is adjusted to your goals and pace.
