About Echo
I am a Mandarin tutor based in London, teaching since 2023 and working with secondary school students from a range of academic backgrounds. I hold a Master’s degree and bring both subject knowledge and a structured approach to my lessons.
Over the past two years, I have supported students in strengthening their spoken and written Chinese, developing clearer sentence structures, and building long-term confidence in the language. I understand the academic expectations placed on secondary learners and aim to provide calm, reliable guidance that helps them feel prepared and capable.
Professionalism and consistency are central to my teaching. Lessons are carefully planned, tailored to each student’s level, and focused on steady progress rather than rushed results. I communicate clearly with both students and parents, ensuring that expectations and goals remain aligned.
I believe effective tutoring combines patience, clarity, and structure. My role is not only to teach content, but to create an environment where students feel supported, motivated, and confident in their ability to improve.

I have been teaching Mandarin since 2023, working with students from different backgrounds and levels. My main focus is supporting secondary school learners who want to build stronger foundations, improve confidence, and feel more comfortable using Chinese in school.
My teaching approach is structured yet supportive. I believe students make the most progress when they understand how the language works rather than memorising isolated words. I focus on pronunciation accuracy, sentence structure, vocabulary development, and guided speaking practice. Lessons are personalised according to each student’s needs — whether they are consolidating school material, preparing for assessments, or simply aiming to become more confident communicators.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. We usually begin with a short review to reinforce previous learning, followed by focused practice on a specific skill such as speaking, reading comprehension, or writing clarity. I include guided exercises and interactive discussion to ensure students actively use the language rather than passively receive information.

My lessons are designed for secondary students, including those working towards GCSE level or strengthening general Chinese language skills.
